I sank my teeth into your arm, and held my breath. The old
medicine box of temporariness, I never could kill its accusations. I have savored a lifetime of snuffed-out candles and closed couplets; end-stopped, or rhymed, filled with the chill of liquid. Clearly, I haven’t quite managed.
Dissolve in my toxins, or shatter if you will not dissolve,
